スイス南部の山々に抱かれ、禅の思想と静かな景色を作品に映し込むHelga Ritschさん。器やオブジェという枠を越えた造形は大地の声に耳を傾けたかのような心落ち着く佇まいを見せます。

人生の多様な側面を作品に落とし込むべく、異なる種類の土、さまざまな色や光沢、彫刻的な表面処理、厚みの変化、様々に探求し制作されています。これらの要素は、視覚的・触覚的な表現を通じて、見る者に深い感情や記憶を喚起させます。運命を導くシンボルとしての“赤い糸”は、文化や国境を超えて世界中に存在し、人と人との不可視のつながり「縁」を象徴しています。その“赤い糸”を、素材と素材、人と人、そして過去と未来を結ぶ存在として捉え、作品の中に織り込んでいます。

1987-89 : スイス連邦工科大学チューリッヒ校 建築学科卒業 （学士号取得）
1989-95 : チューリッヒ大学 美術史／ドイツ語学／哲学（修士号取得）
1998年 : 独立アーティストとしての活動を始める スイス陶芸協会「swissceramics」会員
2001-06 : 陶芸家のMathies Schwarze氏の下で陶芸を学ぶ

Nestled in the mountains of southern Switzerland, Helga Ritsch captures the spirit of Zen philosophy and serene landscapes in her work.
Her creations, which transcend the boundaries of vessels and objects, possess a tranquil presence—as if they were quietly listening to the voice of the earth.
In order to reflect the diverse aspects of life in her work, she explores various types of clay, a wide range of colors and glazes, sculptural surface treatments, and variations in thickness. These elements evoke deep emotions and memories in the viewer through both visual and tactile expression.
The motif of the "red thread" is used as a symbol of destiny. Found across cultures and beyond borders, it represents the invisible bonds—or en (縁)—that connect people. In her work, the red thread is woven in as a presence that links material to material, person to person, and past to future.

1987–1989: Earned a Bachelor's degree in Architecture at ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology)
1989–1995: Earned a Master's degree in Art History, German Studies, and Philosophy at the University of Zurich
1998: Began her career as an independent artist; member of the Swiss ceramics association “swissceramics”
2001–2006: Studied ceramics under ceramicist Mathies Schwarze
